Contains an original short three lined letter signed by Robert Southey, written in his hand and dated 27 Dec 1828. Mounted on a piece of blue paper. A little minor marking but otherwise very good, text clear and un-faded. Original half calf binding, re-backed with new spine. Marbled paper covered boards. Black label band with gilt titles to the spine. All edges marbled. Boards a little rubbed but very good overall. Marbled endpapers. Previous owners book plate to the front pastedown, and inscription to a prelim. Minor foxing otherwise contents clean, binding tight. xxvi + 526pp +errata.
