First Edition. Original cloth binding in good condition despite minor wear to the boards and bumping to the corners. Gilt pictorial to the centre of the front board still bright. However spine is sunned with fraying/wear along the top and minor wear to the base. Original yellow end-papers with previous owners' neat ink inscription to the front free end-paper. Binding still fairly tight. Pages lightly age-toned with the occasional foxing throughout otherwise clean. Beautifully illustrated with colour plates and black and white line drawings with-in the text. pp. 718. Overall a good copy.
