First edition hardback in original blue-green cloth with bevelled edges. Decorative gilt border and pattern with title to cover and spine. All edges gilt. Patterned endpapers. Decorative head and tail pieces. Spine a touch sunned. Binding a little rubbed, minor bumping to edges. Gilt is still nice and bright. Cracking to gutter visible at feps, pp 96-97, and reps. Occasional spotting and thumbing to pages. From pp 36 though to 54 spotting appears to gutter. Toward the end of the book spotting appears darker but not particularly more frequent. Traces of mould to advertisements at rear. Otherwise pages are clean. 114 + vi pp. Overall good condition. Pretty copy of a scarce book.
