Rubbing and the odd scuffed patch. Pages toned and thumbed. Splitting to gutter of volume ii but binding is sound. Overall a well used but clean set. Nice in original binding. Volume i 410 pp, volume ii 440 pp. Baker (1786-1861) was a British historian and philologist. Her brother was George Baker who is known for writing 'The History and Antiquities of the County of Northampton,' 1815. To this work Anne contributed much to the geology and botany sections, even engraving plates for it. An interesting set of books.
