A Scarce Copy. Beautifully bound in red cloth with decorative embossed detail to the boards and small gilt pictorial to the front. Ornate gilt decoration and titles to the spine. The binding is in overall good condition with just minor loss to the corners, spine is a little frayed along the outer hinges with a little shelf wear to the top and base. All edges of the text block gilt. Yellow end-papers with previous owners' label to the front paste down. Beautiful folding frontispiece illustration with several black and white line drawings within the text. pp. vi + 149 + publishers' list. Overall a good copy of a scarce book. With provenance from Major Beeton's Private Collection.
