Hard back First Edition. Beautifully bound in full green cloth with decorative embossing and gilt titles to the front. In overall good condition despite a little bumping to the corners. Ornate gilt decoration to the spine with fraying to the top and base. Cracking to the internal hinges with the rear board partly detached. Previous owners' pencil inscription to the front free end-paper. Pages are quite heavily toned in places with the occasional spot of foxing despite this the pages are generally clean. Illustrated with full page black and white plates and several with-in the text. pp. vii + 560. From the library of Major Beeton
