First Edition Thus. Handsomely bound in full brown leather with ornate gilt border to the front and rear boards, gilt tooling and title bands to the spines. There is a little wear to the leather with minor discolouration in places however the binding remains in good condition and the gilt is still fairly bright. All edges of the text block gilt and still bright. Marbled endpapers free of any inscriptions or labels. Previous owners' signature to one of the blank prelims to all six volumes. Pages are very clean throughout with just the occasional spot of foxing especially to the prelims. Overall a stunning set.
