This volume contains; Vol. I. No. 4 April, Vol. I. No. 5 May, Vol. I. No. 6 June, Vol II. No.1. July, Vol. I No. 2 August, Vol. II. No. 9 September, 1887. Handsomely bound in half dark green leather with marble paper covered boards. Ornately decorated gilt spine with five raised bands and gilt titles. Original paper wrappers bound in. The boards do show a little wear with a little loss to the corners and fore edge. Top edge of the text block gilt and still fairly bright. Previous owners' book plates to the front endpapers. Pages lightly toned with the occasional thumb mark however generally very clean throughout. Beautifully illustrated and with the occasional full page advert. Contains a collection of unpublished Letters of Thackeray ( as appeared in Scribner's Magazine) bound together. A collection of short stories and articles. Overall a very good copy.
