A New Edition. Original blue cloth boards with printed dark blue decorated detail and gilt titles to the front and spine. There is a little darkening to the extremities of the boards with minor surface wear although in good condition with no loss. The spine has darkened and the gilt has dulled with shelf wear to the top and base, slight lean. Internally the binding is tight. Small signatures to the front endpapers dated 1916 and 1935 with an embossed bookseller stamp to the ffep. The pages are toned although clean throughout, with small closed tears along the fore-edge to pages 269 to 272. Illustrated with several full-page monochrome plates including a tissue guarded frontispiece. The tissue guard shows some foxing. pp. 277 + 32. Overall a good copy. Originally published in London in 1878 the Suicide Club and The Rajah's Diamond were part of the Later Day Arabian Nights and consisted of three and four, respectively, interconnected stories.
