Hard Back. All four volumes are first edition, first printing. The illustrated dust jackets are a little worn to the extremities with age-toning to the spines and rear cover otherwise in good condition. Not price clipped. The original deep red cloth boards are in very good condition with bright gilt titles to the spines. All edges of the text block are clean although the red colour along the top edge has faded. Internally the bindings are tight. There is a previous owner's inscription to the front free endpaper of volume one otherwise the rest of the pages are very clean throughout. Volume I, The Birth Of Britain, published, 1956, pp xxi + 416. Volume II, The New World, published, 1956, pp xi + 344. Volume III, The Age Of Revolution, published, 1957, pp xi + 332. Volume IV, The Great Democracies, published, 1958, pp xi + 322. Overall a superb set.
