Rare book with parallel text bound in blue cloth with gilt titles to spine. Pages are bright with good-sized text making this a readable volume. Special frontispiece featuring an extract taken from the famed 6th Century 'Silver Bible' or Codex Argenteus. A faded stamp and neat note indicate the book once belonged to the Clarendon School Reference Library, Malvern. Two inscriptions, dated 1993 and 1916 respectively, are also written on the front free endpaper, as well as several small numbers. Lovely colour fold-out of different codices. The frontispiece, half-title, and front free endpaper pages are loose. Water damage visible to the bottom of the boards, although spine titles remain very bright. Dampness has seeped through to the endpapers. pp.xxxvi+584. Overall Good. A wonderfully rare volume.
