Hard back. Front and rear boards both in very good condition, showing only some very slight signs of wear. The spine is a little worn along the top edge but its gilt title remains very bright. Internally, there is a small pencil inscription belonging to a previous owner in the front free end papers. The pages are clean throughout and the text is very readable. pp. 191. Overall, a very good copy of this text concerning a fascinating part of Medieval history under the Five Boroughs of Danelaw.
