Hardback. First Edition with small inscription signed by V. Sackville-West to the front free endpaper. This copy is also complete with a letter to Miss Cowderoy signed by V.Sackville-West. The dust jacket is complete and shows a little wear to the extremities and fading to the spine otherwise in good condition. Not price clipped. Underneath lie cream cloth boards with titles printed in brown to the front and spine. There is a little darkening to the spine but the cloth remains clean and shows no wear. The pages are lightly toned although free of any marks or previous owner's inscriptions. The text is accompanied by the photographs of Bryan and Norman Westwood. pp. 219. A collection of essays first published in The New Statesman and Nation, reflecting on Vita Sackville-West life and observations in the English countryside.
