A very smart facsimile edition of Reynard The Fox printed from Samuel Pepys' copy. Book plate to the front pastedown, "This is number 17 of an edition limited to 100". Stunning binding by A.J. Brazer and J.R. Mitchell in rich black morocco leather with gilt coat of arms inside a gilt ruled border. Gilt decoration and title between five raised bands to the spine. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers with gilt dentelles. Frontispiece portrait of Samuel Pepys. Housed in an elegant red papered slipcase with black cloth ends. In near fine condition. Facsimile of the 1489 edition, reprinted from the only surviving copy, which belonged to Samuel Pepys.
