Paper covered boards in a bright yellow colour are in good condition despite a little bumping along the top edge of the front board. Light fading to the spine. The pages within are in near pristine condition. Orlando commemorates the love affair between Virginia Woolf and Vita Sackville-West. Woolf would write our her novels in longhand, then re-write and re-work until ready for publication. She would then usually destroy the intermediate versions. However, she valued her drafts and she had the draft of Orlando specially bound as a gift for Vita. Accessible for the first time, the original manuscript has been transcribed together with all Woolf's insertions, deletions and second thoughts. It offers a fascinating comparison with the published version.
