All edges gilt with inner gilt dentelles. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece portrait of the author with several more engraved plates throughout, each with their tissue guard. The binding is in very good condition with just light fading to the spine. Previous owner's date and signature to the front paste down and the occasional spot of foxing to the pages. The pages, otherwise are clean. pp. lxxii + 681 + 2. Overall a beautiful copy.
