A beautiful copy of a Jane Austen classic. Bound in red cloth with printed floral design to the front and spine. In good condition despite a little discolouration to the edges and fading to the spine. All edges gilt. The text block is a little weak with the rear endpaper missing. Previous owner's small label to the front paste down and signatures to the front free endpaper. Ink stamp to the top of the half title page. There is heavy foxing to the frontispiece, title page and tissue guard and very occasionally throughout. Although the pages are generally very clean. pp. xviii + 437 + 6. Beautifully illustrated by Hugh Thomson and with an introduction by Austin Dobson.
